THE LIFECYCLE COLLECTION: Poppy
This listing is for a PRINT, UNFRAMED, of an original botanical artwork, depicting five different stages of a single plant species (papaver rhoeas, or shirley poppy, grown in my own garden), from seed to flower and back to seed. The original artwork, which was annotated by hand, has been reproduced here from a high resolution scan on high quality, 100% cotton rag paper. The artwork is available as an 8x10" print (which is the true-to-life size) or in its scaled-down version at 5x7". While this print does not contain any real plant material, it is very lifelike!
This print is the perfect way to bring a bit of science + botany into your home, and makes a perfect gift! Display with other ferns or flowers for a botanical gallery wall.
Please note that colors may differ slightly based on monitor settings. Frame in the first photo is for display purposes only and is NOT INCLUDED.
Your print will ship inside a cellophane sleeve with a rigid backing board inside a rigid mailer to prevent bending. The print you receive will not be watermarked and will have a slight (1/4") border around the edge.

Every item in the shop features real plant material. The ferns, leaves, and flowers will retain their distinct shape and detail for as long as the piece is cared for (protected from moisture and bending). Depending on the plant or flower, varying degrees of color shift/fading will naturally occur over time. While this transition is beautiful and is inherent in the organic nature of my work , if you would like to delay it, take care to keep your item(s) from direct sunlight. High exposure to UV light will hasten the fading or browning of flowers and leaves.
Ideally, you would display your wall hanging away from direct or strong sunlight, not directly in or in front of a window. If you choose to display it in this way, understand that natural fading will be greatly accelerated. Your plants and flowers will maintain their beautiful and unique shape, but color will quickly fade.
In most cases, yes! I am able to receive fresh wedding bouquets and preserve the flowers to create a keepsake from your special day. There are several product options available; please contact me in advance of your wedding to discuss details, options, and to secure your date (availability is limited). At this time, I am unable to work with previously dried (but not pressed) bouquets, as they are extremely brittle and will not work with my process.
No; at this time, my work is available primarily through my own retail Etsy shop.
